An inexpensive iPhone dock

hacked out of a paper bowl has substantially improved my office setup. Now I can easily keep tabs on the music playing over the Sonos system and keep the charger cable hidden and out of the way. Perhaps I will decorate it later for extra bonus points. 🙂

Good skirts

for dancing seem to be surprisingly difficult to find, so I have taken to making my own. I really like this one. It spins well and has convenient pockets.

The Chaka Stata

was an exercise in building an Incan rope bridge in as traditional a manner as possible. My classmates and I spent much of our Spring 2007 term twisting twine into two-ply cords and cords into thick ropes. Fortunately, the end result was beautiful and well worth it. It was also covered pretty thoroughly by the press. The MIT spotlight on it, with links to various articles about our bridge, can be seen here:
